Welcome to St. Matthews Church NCCD
Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Barnett Smith
Pastor's Vision
This Pastor's vision for St. Matthew's Church of New Castle County Delaware is to answer the call and heed His Word. To treat each and every person that walks through our doors as family. Always with open arms and a warm loving heart.
Pastor's Mission
Every shepherd that God speaks to is instilled with a solid plan for his sheep. I must rise up warriors to take the torch long after I've run my race. With the guiding Hand of God, I intend to make this branch of Zion, the nucleus of the community in which we are planted. To feed all of God's children with the Bread of Life while being the shelter in the time of the storm. It is imperative to create the family atmosphere that welcomes home everyone who wants to come home. God has guided me to draw unto me and grow this flock far beyond the present walls in three years or less to a designed building God has laid on my heart. I will guide this congregation to expand far beyond the present concept for the church. It will include acquiring blocks of city properties and create a new living environment along with developing new homeowners.
Taking men and woman who have lost their way in life and giving them a new direction filled with hope and love. Also providing training along with proper education for them to ensure a healthy and prosperous future.
St Matthews Church NCCD
was birthed out of our mother church St. Matthews GTAF located in Baltimore Maryland.

About St. Matthews Church NCCD
St Matthew’s Church NCCD
Our History...
St Matthew’s Church NCCD was birthed in July 2018.
God asked an old warrior Rev Dr Barnett Smith to step out on faith and to come out of the shadow and build a foundation he requested.
We were blessed with a building (lease) in late August 2018 with only a few soldiers, Elder Donnie Patrick, Secretary Dena Campbell, Trustee Aaron Mathis, Rev Angelique Sackes, Minister Debra McRae and DIT Mary Benjamin.
Our grand opening took place October 7, 2018 supported by Bishop William Thomas, Bishop Blake Mills, Bishop Anthony Carter and a host of others on that blessed day.
We are currently holding services at a local hotel. We know God will open the door to our new Sanctuary in His way and in His time.
We can’t wait to see what new things God has in store for us in the future.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
Meet Our Lovely First Lady Evangelist Dena Campbell- Smith
Evangelist Smith loves to serve in the ministry of exhortation encouraging fellow believers to continue in the faith and not to get weary in well doing, because the word of God states that in "due season" we shall reap if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)
Assistant Pastor
Rev. Angelique Sackes
She is a woman of faith who uses the word of God as a standard in which she lives her everyday life; she stands as a living testimony to the manifested miraculous power of the living God with no regret. Pastor Sackes works in various departments within the ministry, she is a true woman of God, who keeps her hands on the plow.
